dvd shrink problem

I installed a new Empress 8x dvd re-writer the other day and made a dvd back up with no problems.
The next day when I ripped a dvd it ran fine with dvd decrypter,then it needed shrinking.
I started DVD Shrink and it analysed the files ok,so I set the burn speed etc. and started it going.But when it gets about half way through I get the blue screen of death and a message saying," KERNEL STACK INPAGE ERROR "
Does anyone know why its doing this cos I can't back up a DVD anymore till I sort it out?
