Hi, a few Q's regarding dvd shrink
1) I'm using version 3.1.7 and when you click the backup button, a window comes with with multiple tabs. One of the last tab has a check box you can check and in brackets the option is to "enhance writing" or something like that, I can't remember exactly. By default this box is not checked, does anyone know what this feature does and if it should be checked?

2) Is there a big difference between doing the deep analysis before ripping? I can't really tell but I'm not much of a video expert. I'm just curious what others think on this issue.

3) What are the average ripping times for backing up an entire DVD supposed to be? If I backup the whole dvd without doing the deep scan, it takes about ~20 mintutes, with deep scan its ~42.

4) If I backup an entire DVD using DVD shrink, will I still be able to access easter eggs?

Those times seem about right. However, they can vary quite a bit depending on the size of the DVD. Most DVDs are about 7Gigs and your times fit the average. If you copy the entire DVD you will be able to access any easter eggs that are included in that DVD.

jo_momma, you need to get the new shrink, 3.2. You'll definitely be able to tell a diff on deep analysis and with the new quality settings. It will also retain menu function with editing now. You can get it here in AD under top downloads.

Thanks for the replies Yordan and bigorange! I'll grab the latest version now. What about the option under the "File/IO" tab called "Enable Overlapped I/O", does anyone know what this does exactly and if I should have it checked or not? Thanks

My DVD Shrink 3.1.7.6 "Enable Overlapped I/O" is checked, says "it may improve ripping performance."

Switching to 3.2 tomorrow.
