Thanks for all the help guys. As many have said reading a little goes along way. I like many others get really annoyed with people who refuse to take the time to read and maybe even learn something themsselves.

I was successfull with

Imageburn 2.4.o
Memorex Brand DVD+R DL
I used the layer break method at 2084960
I burnt mine at 2x speed
I used the wiizard version
1.9g wiikey

I was having alot of trouble at first using many different methods but ultimately for me it was the Fuji DVD's that caused me the grief. I bought some Memorex discs today and the first burn using the above stats worked fine. I played about 2% with no problems. Up till that I was only able to get to the beginning cinematic were it would come disk unreadable

Again thanks folks

..... You don't have to do the update from the discs if you updated through the internet.

Also, I have seen that a lot of people have had success with both layer break and not. Someone please tell me if it is a better idea to use it or not, just incase like if an error comes up as I progress in the game.

I have a question about how the friend codes work (no I'm not asking for any friend codes).

I got the US Brawl today and am a victim of the wiikey problem. My first rip with friidump 0.3.0 stopped around 90% and now I'm going to be waiting another 4 hours for friidump 0.4.0 to be done.

If I have to resort to torrenting the iso, will it have the same friend code as everyone else who downloaded it or do the friend codes generate based on the different wiis?

Alright just confirming what to do here. I have an older Wii with a WiiKey and I bought SSBB today. I just downloaded and burned 1.9g USA WiiKey Update to a Sony DVD+R.

Before I proceed any further I just want to make sure I have this all done properly. I got the 1.9g update from the thread pinned in this forum and it's 1.35GB already

I bought my Wii premodded with the 1.9g update and all that so I have never done this before. I read on this page to corrupt the WiiKey software by initailizing the 1.9g update and unplugging the power cord to my Wii at 70%.

If I do that will I be able to restore my Wiikey software to play backed up games again with this same 1.9g disc?

Last question, should I update my console via WiFi to 3.2U before I do any of this?

Thanks for all the help, this forum works wonders.
Can anyone confirm for me the issue above?

not quite for the reason you're proposing. that was referring to someone who needed to move it to another (better) computer to burn. he already had the full iso. so they were telling him to multi-rar it to two files so he could put the them on data DVDs simply to move it to the next computer. at that point he would recombine the two rar files to recreate the original 8+GB iso file. (which would then be burned on a DL disc.)

I have heard that you can use WiiScrubber to get the full version in one SL DVD. However, I believe the adventure mode won't work, but it's a good way to be able to play versus mode if you only have SL DVDs.

IIRC, friend codes are basically like the MAC codes of your systems hardware. unless i'm getting it mixed up, i believe your "friend code" stays the same no matter what game it is. it's basically the code the unit uses to search the net for your specific hardware to connect to. they aren't based on the game disc serial like Half-life and massive online games like Final Fantasy are.

You can get three Memorex for around $15 or possibly cheaper. Scrounge up some cash and you may be able to make a backup to one of the best games for the Wii ever...or so I've heard. (Seeeeeddd!!!!)

as i do the scrubber .. what sections do i take out that are not needed .. i just want the multiplayer... im then going to make an other with just single player... if you have done this a run down would be awesome.

Awesome, thanks!

I still got a long way to go until my brawl disc rips so at least I have something else to depend on just in case it can't rip.

I've tried everywhere...maybe AD can help me! So far, I've burned 7 copies of the game; all of have failed to work. Everytime I get past the first loading screen i get the green screen of death telling me to consult the manual. I have a NTSC-U Wii, 1.9G Wiikey, updated to 3.2U (through Brawl). I've used Sony and Verbatim DVD+R DL's with a max of 2.4x. I've tried different methods like changing the book-type and/or adding a layer break. But so far, no luck. I just bought a burner off of newegg (not specifically for this game, my current burner is old and outdated), it should be here tomorrow. I have 1 Verbatim 2.4x disc left and 1 Sony 2.4x disc left. What are my options, and what am I doing wrong? Do you guys think it could be the burning speed (since all the DVD+R Dl's I have tried have been only capable of doing 2.4x) or my burner? Heaven forbid it be my Wii laser.

EDIT: Upon further reading, I've discovered that people having problems with Verbatim discs have had success with Memorex (8x) discs. Guess I got to go pick some of those up.

@coolzaidi

Are you sure SSBB updates to 3.2U? I heard it doesn't, I would be sure to update through the internet since that seems to be what most people are doing.

@1bigfish1/X1028

Alright guys seems like my dvd burner was crap, its pretty old first DL invention series, so what i did was same process of burning with that LAYER BREAK METHOD and just like bigish said he tried many times and no dice..just like me, but i found my solution

went to best buy, bought a external LG 20x burner, hooked it up, repeated my steps and WOLLA good to go. SSBB works fine now, just my burner was the problem

SO X1028 thanks for verifying, mine works now as well, as for BIGFISH dont buy new DVDZ because i memerox works fine for me, try a friends DL burner, thats my suggestion. Well hope everyone enjoys brawl.

later dudes.

I dont think brawl has a 3.2 update. It didnt have it for the Japanese Brawl. And it did unsemi-brick my wii.
