Can I use dvd shrink to backup a region 2 dvd

I offered to backup a dvd from amsterdam for a friend at work of course asuming it is possible with shrink? unsure ofsize in gb's of original disc? so what is the consensus guys and gals possible or no? is there any other way? thanks y'all later

Shrink will normally work with discs of various regions. Remember, this program was not written for one particular region. There is a good guide for Shrink here at AD and at DVDShrink.info. A comprehensive guide is available at Doom9.org.

Using DVD Decrypter will also work with out of region discs and the resulting files can be used in the transcoder program of choice.

A program such as DVD Region + CSS Free will also help solve the problem.

So, there are several ways of doing this. However you do need to read the guides so you understand the tools being used.

It should be the same as doing a region 1 disc Shrink doesn't care which region it is. Just check your settings and make sure that region 2 is checked.

Shouldn't be a problem, if I remember correctly Shrink will prompt you to choose the correct region if the program cannot identify it on its own. Once you identify the orgin disc as a region 2 Shrink will process it and render a region free backup.

Enough votes in supporting what I said. Should be safe to go ahead and use Shrink to record. BTW, I was in on the beta testing of the new Shrink. It'll work.

Just follow the guide.

Thanx Bro'bear wil try it as soon as I get the dvd . May have issues of PAL versus NTSC but I will read up and try on a DVD+RW disc first so no waste if I bugger it up thanx again bigtoxy69!
