Is there a way to tell what FW you have on the 360 maybe I flashed the wrong firmware.

Please ensure that the layerbreak is set as 2133520 in the .dvd file.
If you already have the XGD2 (or other) layerbreak value set in
ImgBurn, the .dvd of the XGD3 ISO will override that setting and use
the proper layerbreak.
I don't understand these instructions? From what it says here it looks like there are 2 different layerbreaks that need to be set.
Please could someone explain this? For the past couple of years I'd simply set the layerbreak in Imgburn> Tools > Settings > Write.
however the instructions in this thread stipulate an additional layerbreak set in the .dvd file which I'm unfamiliar with. How do I change this layerbreak in the .dvd file? When I double click the .dvd file Imgburn just starts up, so I don't know how I'm meant to set the layerbreak to 2133520 whilst simultaneously setting it to "Calculate Optimal".

Layer break in the new XGD3 .dvd files is already set to 2133520, the tutorial is asking you to double check. You can see the layer break once you double click on the .dvd file and when it loads imgburn it should show you the layer break on the right side.

Hi I can't see it. Double clicked the .dvd file and imgburn opens up but there is no layerbreak information in the large pane on the right side. All it says is
"HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H60L R90C (ATA)
Current profile: NA"
On the left of the page I can see in "Sectors" the following information
"LB:1913760". If LB stands for layerbreak then it looks like its telling me its not an XGD3. I was told PES2012 was XD3 but I can't find a list on google to check it.
I have tried looking in write options, layerbreak but the layerbreak here is set to 1913760 (which is the value I set for previous games burned).

Open the .dvd file with Notepad. It's just a plain text file with 2 lines: -
LayerBreak=2133520
nameofiso.iso
One line has the layerbreak info and the other is the file name of the ISO. That info is passed on to ImgBurn, so it knows which ISO to burn and where to place the layerbreak.
This guide to burning XGD3 games is old anyway. Get the new version of ImgBurn and use this one: -

Hi it tells me the layerbreak is 1913760 so the game mustn't be an XGD3

Look at the size of the ISO. If it's 8.13 GB, it's XGD3. If it's 7.29 GB (or less) then it's XGD2.

Yeah its around 6-7gb so is X2. Doesn't surprise me, Konami always seem to be behind the most recent security methods. I'll burn as usual following your instructions

I'm sorry he has been wrong or at the very least misquoted before. Have you forgotton the last big banwave that claimed thousands of peoples boxes? Just saying MW3 is around the corner and I think I will play legit on my slim till then to see if a wave comes or not. If not then I'll upgrade to 2.0 and get back on live with my fat.

I still can't believe some people still play burned copies online. I've had two XBoxs for the last 2 years. One for Live and one for offline. The only games I play on Live are original copies.

Do you play backups LIVE or do you play originals? also there has not been a ban wave sine 2009, I flashed my 360 in 2009 and still not banned from xbox LIVE or flagged and I play backups offline and on LIVE.

If you read Joe's last sentence, he tells you he only plays live with originals. Just because you're not flagged client side doesn't mean that you're not flagged server side. Most people haven't been banned because of a flashed drive since 2008/2009. All of us who have flashed drives and play on live know the risk we take. It's really hard to tell what M$ has up their sleeve. We shall know within the next few months.

So wait In simple terms. We just use Img Burn ONLY to burn XGD3 games without any more softwares to open except ABGX360 and burn the game simply by truncate, burn, Close Track/Session/Disc' then Play the game on Xbox, that simple as that, yes? No more additional work cause I'm really getting confused on burning a XGD3 game with a Verbatim disc.

You need to use one of the liteon drives flashed with imax FW and burn with that. Truncate is not safe and does not work on all games as it only burns 97% of the disc not 100%

So. How do i do that? Is it that complicated than burning XGD2 games?
