I am a professional console modder/repair technician, and with my mod you can copy/backup and play all top titles straight from your hard drive.
The process usually only takes between 30-45 minutes.
Great for systems with a bad disc drive, also keeps your working drive from going out!
All firmware 3.55 and lower compatible
!!!!!IF YOU ARE ON FIRMWARE 3.56 THIS WILL NOT WORK!!!!!
You can still get on the internet with your system but will not be able to log in to the Playstation Network as it will ask you to update to the latest firmware. There is a bypass for this but I will not do it because it is not legal. The modding/jailbreak however is still perfectly legal, check your DMCA next time u try to flag my posts!

Please do not waste your money on this just search these forums and find out for yourself how to create your own custom firmware and flash it yourself. Trust me it is not hard at all and you will be thankful you didn't waste the money.

bigdog626 it is so easy to flash 3.55 CFW, out of all this generations console, it is the easiest, you will be able to do it yourself.
Put a folder called PS3 in the root of your thumbdrive, then inside that folder create a folder called UPDATE, then inside that folder put your CFW update.pup, then install it via recovery, job done :)

He claims it takes 30 to 45 minutes, that is a lie, it takes at a complete maximum, ten minutes and that's installing the official 3.55 firmware and the 3.55 CFW.

True this guy is trying to make an easy buck from people who do not know how to install a simple bit of software.
But then again there is a huge trade in assembling flat pack furniture, where people who are too lazy or do not know how to use a screwdriver pay someone to put together a desk, a chair, a cupboard etc.
Take adding a new cylinder lock on your door. Read about snapping and bumping so changed my locks. Very easy just a single screw to remove and the entire thing slides out. My cousin decided to change theirs too, they paid a guy £40 to do the same thing.
Basically if there are people too stupid to do things on their own, there is always someone else that will charge them for it.

Well said and very much so the case. He will get busted as i am sure he has a plenty of games i pirated. Willing to bet was a craigslist post or the like.

It sucks that people make a living doing this type of stuff. Aside from the profiting from piracy issue, inexperienced customers will need continued support for their J/B PS3. These PS3 mods are evolving constantly, will he charge the same customer extra for updating jail break software?? Also, there are many issues that could arise from using a J/B PS3. There could be black screen issues on certain games and also inexperienced people will make tons of mistakes uploading games to the PS3. I have seen people's posts on various forums who pay for these console mods that dont even know how to handle .rar files.

That black cat mod stuff utilizes the old method to jail break with the PS Groove. You dont need a dongle anymore as of last month. 3.55 CFW can be installed with a regular USB stick as the poster illustrates below. I installed "Kmeaw 3.55" on my PS3. 1 = Yes he can mod it for you. (Really Following the instructions at top of this area your Mom could)
2 = Yes any usb thumb flash drive
3 = He has the same chance to brick as you. Like power outage or something. Wouldnt it be nice to get back a bricked ps3 from him with a message sorry it did not work as expected so there will be no charge.
If my system is going to have a chance to be a brick I sure want to be the one that bricks it.
