I hope someone can help me. I have a PS3 phat with version 3.41. I ordered a PSJailbreak2 Clone with the downgrader software built in. When I tried to jailbreak my PS3, it went into factory/service mode. Unfortunately, I did not see the install packages so I figured it was because it was in factory/service mode. So I did alot of searching and found that I needed to download Lv2diag.self, put it into the right side usb port and boot the PS3. I think I messed up and used file 1 instead of file 2. The PS3 power light just kept blinking for a long time so I turned it off. Now I can't get my PS3 to turn on. I will look like it going to power on, the green light is on, then it turns itself off. Please, I hope someone can help me and I did not just kill my PS3. My wife is going to kill me.
It looks like you killed it or it just died on its own from how you described whats going on with it. What your describing happened to my 60GB launch PS3. It would power on and immediately turn off. I could be wrong and you could have just messed it up by trying to jailbreak it but as of now it seems like its dead.
So this is what I think I have found out from reading different forums. Since I don't know exactly what the file 1 of lv2diag.self does (not sure if it deletes the existing firmware then puts the old one on), I assume that since I mistakenly put it into the root of my thumb drive without anything else, I messed up my firmware when I powered it off after the green light kept blinking for a long time. Just wish I would have taken the time to go look up which file to use to take the PS3 out of service mode and back into retail mode. I can still get into safe mode but have not been able to fix it with any of the 6 options. I thought I had it when I started to reload the firmware but it got to 85% and then said it could not find appropriate firmware. When I tried to rebuild my database(hard drive), it told me it could not find any hard drives. Does anyone know if when you are in service mode, the hard drive is disabled? I assume that I am still in service mode since it does not recognize the hard drive in safe mode. I have tried to put file 1 back on a blank thumb drive with the 3.41 firmware file but it still powers on for 10 seconds and then powers off. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. My wife did not kill me but she is not a happy camper since now she cannot watch any of her blu-rays or movies from netflix.
