File a complaint with the police, tell them that $ony stole all your PS3 features.
Remember, you did not buy a PS3, you leased it! and so long as you do not agree to their TOS agreements and update, $ony will block your console from doing the things you "bought" it for:
No support for new games
No online support or online gaming
No chatting with friends on PSN
No support for the PSN games you bought
No support for new bluray movies
I tried to get people to realise that what $ony has done is theft, and that instead of old games, we should have demand $ony to refund or replace our consoles with an Xbox 360.
It's funny how corporations can steal from the people and get away with it so easily by throwing a TOS agreement in your face.
Try disabling your PS3 from making a net connection and then see if it works.

Thanks! I have called the cops on them! Sony should be arrested within the hour!
As for the blurays...i did disconnect from internet, but the problem still shows up.
I had no idea people still rent movies anymore? Maybe blockbuster can make a come back. The time it took me to write this my downloaded 720p bad teacher is at 56%
Some people are afraid of downloading cos firstly it is illegal, and they fear that they will be caught.
That's what I love about piracy, the secret that the industries dont want the majority of non-downloaders and politicians to know is that there are relatively few pirates, and these pirates actually spend at least 3 times as much money on original copies than an average person!
Of course there are pirates who pirate and dont buy.
But look at the ACS:Law fiasco, they only went after people who they alleged downloaded porn, knowing many would be embarrassed to appear in court being assumed of such a thing especially if they were innocent, which we found a few to be!
