I bought a ps3 off a mate. Its a phat 50GB ChechC ofw 4.41. ok ive done as much research as I can. Now am I right? I "Cannot" do any software modding on OFW 4.41? And if im not willing to e3 flash or any hardware modding (noobie here btw) I am stuck for the remainder of the ps3's life?
Main question is, "Is there any, any way around this ugly situation? Can I at all, be possible to downgrade this ps3 phat 50GB ChechC console so I can start making back-ups for my Sons who love breaking discs.
2nd question (out of curiousity) Why, please why, is all this CFW downgrade files always connected to serveys that require mobile phone messages? and blah blah blah, I've never seen such "Rigmarole" (if that's a word) in trying to download a file.
ok sorry about that, but anyway can anyone help me out to help my kids start backing up games on this ps3 phat 50GB chechC console?

GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
