hey
i'd like to ask for some advice about this topic.
anyone using this combo and can suggest me some monitor?
my whises:
-23/24"
-hdmi
i heared that ps3 720p -> 1080p upscaling is really shit on most of the monitors and the picture will be blurry and crappy, so i would need a monitor with better upscaling, and ofc very good reaction time and picture quality.
so far i found this: samsung px2370 (thats the price i dont really wanna exceed)
any tip/experience/advice would be useful

I have a Samsung SyncMaster P2450 that looks just fine with my PS3... 24" and it ran me just under $250. Love the thing.
Not heard anything about the PX2370, myself.

I would recommend the LG E2360V instead. The response time is slower (5ms), but still many times faster than the human eye can see. Also, the samsung you mentioned is rated at 2ms, but it has ghosting issue...and you don't get ghosting below 20ms, so clearly their rating is a lie. The cost is less than the Samsung, the build quality is much higher, and the screen size is the same.

thanks for the replies,
nintenut: P2450 is P2450H ? i read topics thats P2450H has some issues with the upscaling thing (quality awful, jagged edges, blury images). anyway so you say its cool in 1080p for ps3?
killerbug: my friends told me that i should avoid lg, because lg should only make microwave ovens :) anyway back to the real thing, i'll check your recommendation

I've heard the H is a regional thing. Like the PSP 1000 in Japan is 1001 in North America, ETC.
I can't comment on the quality of it's upscaling as the only devices I use with the thing support 1080p. Yes, PS3 looks great as far as I can tell.
I've not noticed any notable ghosting... But perhaps my eyes are only trained to see that on small screens.

Do not buy LG monitors, this is what happened with mine:

If you do buy an LG make sure i't one where the cable will stick out perpendicular to the back. not like in this where is points down and there is hardly enough space causing stress on the cable's connector.

Every manufacturer has done that at least once...use cables that don't waste lots of space on the connector, and be careful sliding them in and out.
Of course, that really does not matter on the LG I listed because it has perpendicular connectors.

As far as I can see, it is very good. Personally, I can't use that model because it does not have VESA holes, so I can't mount it to the ceiling. At the time I bought my screens, LG was not making any VESA-able screens at all, so I had to settle for slightly larger, but still not nearly as good, screens from Asus.
