Hi Guys, Is there a way to MOD/hack the PS3 so my son can store his games on the PS3s HDD and play them without changing discs?. He keeps losing/scratching/breaking his disks and it would just be easier if I could store them on the HDD and put the discs away somewhere safe. Unsure if it is doable but it would make life much easier. Cheers.
what is the firmware of your son's PS3, if it is lower than V3.55, it will be pretty mucb easier, just install a V3.55 CFW, and then he can play the games from external hdd.
Hmmm, I updated it for him when he got it 2 months ago I think maybe it is 4.11? Does that sound right?? IS it still possible to do what I asked running 4.11? Or is there a way to downgrade the FW or do a factory reset back to the original FW? Cheers for the help.
No, these are fake. There is no method of running backups on 4.11. Also if you got the PS3 new about 2 weeks ago there is a high chance of not being able to downgrade, so it won't work at all.

If you want to download a V4.11 PS3, you need to buy E3 flahser, expensive and complicated to install, i suggest waiting for another free CFW.

i think them keys wont ever be available after the 3.55 ones were found, you will be waiting a lifetime in my opinion

Oh well. It was worth a try. So if I were to buy another PS3 I need to get one with FW 3.55 or older to use multiman etc to play backups and homebrew stuff etc?

yep thats what i have, slim 500 internal and 1tb external (both full of games), pre warned tho to get new games working you need to invest more money on a trueblue dongle or something else,
If you can get PS3 with the V3.55 or lower system, that will be awesome. After you get the PS3, if you only want to play the V3.55 or older games,then you just install the PS3 kmeaw V3.55 CFW and the multiman. If you also want to play V3.60 higher games, then you will need buy PS3 Ture blue which is this one: http://www.dsflashcart.com/ps3-true-blu...-ps3-p-258.html ANd if you want to get more feature such as play PS2/PSP games on your PS3, then you can get one more PS3 cobra. that's all you need and just choose the one fits you.
