I looked at all the threads on this subject, but they don't seem to address my problem.
Okay I have this dvd I'm trying to burn but the subtitles are not in sync. I followed the direction http://subtitlecreator.sourceforge.n...itles2aDVD.htm on this web site and used the software listed to create the dvd but when I test it the subtitles are out of sync ...I tried to sync the subtitle in subtitle workshop and the create subtitle programs ... I can get them in sync in the program, but when I test the movie before burning the subtitle is out of sync ...what can I do to correct this? Is there a way to correct it once it is on the dvd? This is my first encounter with something like this so it's all new to me. What am I doing wrong? I don't get it? Thank you for reading my post. :)

Your link doesn't work.

Is this an AVI and a srt file that you opened in SubTitle Workshop?

here it is again ... it works now ...
No it was a mpeg2 and a sup ... I started out with srt, but converted to sup.
I when back and converted the original file which was a meta file ... converted it to mpeg2 ... but I converted that file again to a AVI file ... now that the link works you can see the programs I used.

I don't know about meta files...and you cannot load a .sup file into S.W. - but an avi file loaded into Subtitle Workshop along with the .srt file should be able to be synced (then the new .srt file saved).

I have no problem syncing the sub in SW ... it's when I get to burning the dvd is when the subtitles go out of sync. I've tried just about every sync program I can find and nothing works ..

If the AVI and .srt file plays in sync on the PC it should still be synced when converted to DVD - unless the AVI and subs drift out of sync gradually..
I haven't had problems using FAVC to convert AVI and .srt to DVD.

Well ... it didn't work ... I put the subtitles in with the AVI file and checked it on WMP and they were there ... but when I converted the file to dvd format ... no subtitles ... it was a good thought though ...

Did you manually try to load the subtitles in ConvertxtoDVD when you set up the conversion? Did it show "i title" under subtitles?

Does it even support subtitles?

I didn't see any indication that this program can do subtitles ...

Yes it can;if the subs and video have the same name and are in the same directory, will probably automatically pick them up:

I had issues with synching subtitles for a DVD as well. I finally figured it out. Start off with this guide as a reference, but you'll have to make some changes...
http://subtitlecreator.sourceforge.net/AddingSubtitles2aDVD.htm
1. Rip the DVD to you hard drive using DVD Shrink (include the English subtitles).
2. Demux the movie using PgcDemux (this is different order than the guide).
3. Load the srt file into Subtitle Creator (this is different order than the guide). Now go to the "synchronize" menu across the top and select "Load synchronized subtitles". Go to your demuxed folder and load the subtitle file. On the left is the synchronized file, on the right is your srt file. Start at the beginning... click on a subtitle in the left and right panes that are the same. Then click the giant center button to add a synchronization point. Add a point every 100 subtitles or so to ensure it stays consistant throughout the whole movie. Once you have all your points, click "Synchronize". Save your SUP file.
4. Re author with ReJig or IfoEdit.
5. Test with VLC Player
6. Burn to DVD.
Hope this works for you! Took me several weeks to figure this out.

That's a good technique if you have a synced set of subtitles that you can use to correct a second un-synced stream.

Thanks for responding ... the movie originally didn't have subtitles ...I had to add them but hopefully now that it's on the hhd it won't make a difference ... I will let you know how it goes.
