Hi, I have a PS3 that when I inserted any disc (PS3, PS2, dvd, cd) i would just get the swirling loading icon, but nothing would show up. So I bought the appropriate lens with a deck and installed it.

So now when I insert a disk there is no swirling icon, it accepts the disc and nothing registers on the PS3.

In either case the disc never spins, and the spinner motor never seems to go up to meet the disc.

Anybody got any ideas?

You can either swap just the lens into your old drive or swap the old drive's pcb/mainboard into the new drive with lens. That should fix the problem unless it's something else.
