Hello all!
Im having some serious issues with my PS3.......I cant get video(YES I HAVE DONE THE VIDEO RESET ALSO HAVE TRIED TO GET INTO RECOVERY MODE); i dont know what else there is to do............i have also taken the hardrive out and reformatted it and still no luck.....I have used AV cables and hdmi cables, still nothing.....Am i suppose to format the hardrive a certain way? Do i need to flash it? Please help?
Keep trying to get into recovery mode, it sometimes takes more than one try, I had one that needed over 20 tries before I was able to get a picture.
You do get the green light, don't you?
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Yeah I get a green light....is it ok that I have reformatted the hardrive in NTFS? Also i dont even see it doing anything on my tv when it resets its video settings....I get absolutely no video signal at all

OK, it might not be the GPU as I wrote in PM, remove the harddrive and try again, if the PS3 tells you to insert a harddrive and doesn't freeze up and everything the harddrive is the issue. Also the PS3 doesn't support NTFS.

Similar issue with my PS3. Surge protector got unplugged..improper shutdown...now nothing on screen and it won't power up or down correctly. Removed hardrive and system tells me no harddrive found. Got a new hardrive already formatted to FAT32, 5400 RPM, 320 GB. Installed it and now it says hook controller up with USB cable. Did that and it checks for updates but can't find my info. I downloaded it from Sony, version 4.11, on a flashdrive into PS3>UPDATE>PS3UPDAT.PUP. Also got a friend to backup his PS3...Neither software file will load to my PS3. Do I really need to send this thing off? Is there a difference in a HDD drive vs. a regular notebook harddrive?
