Ok right guys I'm gonna explain this the best way I can. I have very little know how when it comes to computers, internet speeds and routers etc.... You could say I'm n00b lol. What my problem is I had to move my Playstation 3 from downstairs up into my room. My connection so bad, I play a lot of Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2/3. I can't even get a game sometimes I sit and wait for ages, and if I do get into a game it's pure lag. I phoned my service provider up which is Sky Broadband to ask for help. The man on the phone didn't help me much he was useless. He said "It's because I moved the PS3 to differnt room. The further away it is from the router less it's gonna pick it up. Theres nothing you can do". I can't move my PS3 back into the living room becuase my brother moved back in with us and sleeps in living room (wish he would get back with his girlfriend lol). We got Sky broadband unlimited package. Is there any way I can look up the speeds on my laptop? Windows XP
I thought can I run a telephone line extension cable from main box downstairs into my room buy router plug it into that, then plug ethernet cable into router then into my PS3. Surely I would stay connected then? Or would that not work?
If anyone could help me out with suggestions I really would appreciate it. It's driving me nuts I can't play COD :(. My NAT Type on MW3/MW2 Gone RED STRICT. I think I posted this in right part, sorry if I got it wrong.
