Hi guys, I have a bit of a problem here. So I really want to build a gaming quality PC for emulation (well duh) and so I'll have a computer good enough to allow me to get started in coding and 3D design for a career that I'll pursue in a couple of years. Note however, that I will more than likely also use the PC to play current titles. However, I'm also somewhat interested in purchasing a PS3 plus a cheapish (>$40) arcade stick.

Now the main thing that is really this a tough decision for me (besides my apparently limited funds) is the just released Blazblue for the PS3/Xbox 360. I have always been a fan of Arc System Works, particularly the Guilty Gear series, with Blazblue being no exception. In fact, I?m pretty confident that Blazblue will consume most of my playing time for a while, especially with the free and nigh lagless online multiplayer. Also, since my sister whom I live with has been thinking about getting a PS3, it is likely that I could get her to foot some of the bill.

Sound Good? Unfortunately, there are a couple of problems with this. Firstly, I really treasure my privacy and always game alone or with my gamer friends and always with the door to the room I?m currently playing in closed. This is a problem because the only HDTVs in my family?s procession in my parent?s and in the living room; I have a SDTV, a faulty LCD monitor, and a low resolution CRT currently in a friend?s procession. On the plus side, the HDTV in the living room is a 72 inch screen in 1080p.

The second and probably bigger problem is that Blazblue is the only game that is making me consider buying the PS3. All of the big hits available/soon to be released that aren?t on the PC such as Final Fantasy 13 and Infamous either don?t interest me, or only interest me enough to want to play them but be willing to wait till PS3/Xbox 360 emulation is a reality. Yes, I?m well aware of the fact that such emulation is a long way off. To drive home the point, if Blazblue was confirmed to be coming to the PC the day after I buy a PS3, I?d be very angry.

That being said, what do you guys think I should buy?
