I dont think it does.. and if it doesnt from the beginning i doubt that a firmware update can do what you ask.

nope, there is nothing you can do. have you tried good quality discs like ritek or verbatim? your player might read them.

I try to find firmware update for this.If some body have that firmware please let me know.It should be plug and play not plug and pray :)

there is no firmware that will let you burn -r with that drive.
