i read many posts but the ones i found dont exactly tell me how to convert avi to dvd-r format using what program and then how to burn it when its converted onto a dvd-r so i can actually play it on my dvd player im kinda confused

Hi,

You can use TMPGEnc to convert the AVI to MPEG and then use TMPGEnc DVD Author to convert to the proper DVD format :)
