AVI's to DVD-R ??????

I've got a video in 3 seperate parts which are all .avi files.

How do I go about putting these together as one file and burning them onto a DVD-R in Nero 6 ? I've got a copy of TMPGEnc Plus, so am I going in the right direction ?

PS- Sorry if this info is on the FAQ section but I just need the 'idiots guide' version !!
