One of the best Dual Layer Burners is the LG4120B. It can burn +R + RW -R -RW and DVD-RAM, CD-R/RW, price is excellant, at Euro 89. can't beat that price. I have one and it works well with an HP350n.

The NEC ND-3500 look's like a good drive for £60 which looks like a really good good value for money considering the speed of the drive.

I must respectfully, yet adamantly disagree. I've seen too many folks come here having problems with LG's.

I believe Pioneer would fit "one of the best" much better :)

Pioneer seem to have the market sorted, quality products & good support. Nearly every one who has a Pioneer speaks highly of them, including myself. I prefer it to my dru510a

Respectfully, if it's so good why doesn't mine work?
It gets I/O read errors, my 2X toshiba works where the pioneer doesn't. can you tell me why?

What system have you got? Have you fitted the 1.06 firmware? (I apologize for stating the obvious!)

Try this link http://www.cdfreaks.com/drive/568, you should find your drivers (1.06 I think!) I hope that this solves your problem
