I've been following the instruction on this site: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burning_dvd_with_nero.cfm

to burn a dvd. Up until time to burn everything so far so good. Now. I can't seem to get the DVD to play in my player (a UNITED). it supports DVD RW and DVD-R so there shouldn't be a problem. The computer also indentifies the CD as a DVD and plays it without problems. I've tried the different tips and methods some of you heroes have been contrabuting. Is there anyone who could help?! I'm so close!!

If you are completing the burn in the DVD-Video mode without any errors then you may have a player that just does not like your discs. Can you try the disc in another player?

Did the folder you burned have the files that the guide indicated it should have in it? This is probably OK because Nero would give you an error if the files were screwed up.

Nero always asks if you would like to save a log file. Can you save one and then copy and paste it into a reply? That makes it a lot easier to figure out what is going on.

I have never heard of a United DVD player. Should work though.

Don't relax em! That's kinda why I want to see your log file. It has all that stuff on it. If you are not running the version that was released a couple of weeks ago then you should download it. The new version is 6.3.1.20.

http://nero.com/us/nero-up.php

Save the log file after you burn. I put mine in "My Documents".

These are DVDs not CDs right? 100 pack of no name media may well be your problem. The burn log will tell us the manufacturer and we can go from there

Hey sly, whats up?

How are you ripping your DVDs? What program are you using?

Disc Manufacturer: TAIYOY - UDEN

Nero can't spell, this should be Taiyo-Uden which are supposed to be very good. I have no experence with them, so I'm not going to say much about them other than you did not get any errors from them during the burn. It really looks like a modified file or two is confusing your player. This seems to be occuring before the burn process is begun, so lets look there first.

The only thing else I saw was that your memory usage was a bit on the high side. Make sure you don't have too much stuff running in the background during the burn. This was not a problem during the burn but is just something you should be aware of.

Hi all. :)

Whaz, as fasfrank already suggested, you should remove your Nero registration number from the log file. ;)

It can be seen...

Ifoedit may be screwing it up for you. Do you see the button to get VTS sectors or something like that? Try that. It's been a while since I've used IFOEdit so I don't remember what the steps are, but basically you can rebuild your .vobs and correct a few things.

Make sure you are using the correct format, ie, PAL vs. NTSC.

Another thing to try is instead of using IFOEdit to author with, try NerVision Express 2. Just load the mpegs from TMPGEnc into that instead. It will take care of a lot of the little file problems you seem to be having.

Your second log is a lot shorter than than the first, did you edit out stuff?

Your burns are normal, the problem is with the files you are burning.

Cheers,
Frank
