I posted a couple of days ago in beginners this question and nobody responded getting paranoid here, i am a nice person really!!!!

I have a film on my harddrive dvd that plays with menu and everything on my computer with powerDVD.

Then I try and put it to DVD-R and Nero says that
DVD video files compliance test failed and resulting DVD-Video might be unplayable.

So I continue and it plays fine its just missed off the DVD menu and features. WHY!!! and why will it play fine on my computer.

DVD Shrink can't open it

can anybody help me!!!!!

Hiya,

If you NEED the menu, then I suggest re-ripping the original.

If you want A menu, then TMPGEnc DVD Author can help you:
http://www.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda.html

A guide here:
http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/tmpgenc.htm

If you are happy doing without a menu, you could use IFOEdit to recreate the structures from the VOBS.

Hope this helps...

Life is just more of the same:

you can save the Nero report as text so what exactly does it say?

what does it say as its sometimes possible to fix it so it doesn't complain ;)

what software did you use to get the film to your Hard Drive and what software did you use afterwards if any?

can you not just rip the DVD again or is it a downloaded DVD?

I would ignore PowerDVD playing any DVD as it will play most crap you throw at it. It's best used as a player and that's about it as you should not use it a a playback tester. Mark's DVD player is the best thing I have come across that will barf on a non-compliant DVD navigation

The "golden try" is a Get VTS Sectors in IFOEdit or simply open this DVD with PGCEdit and save it.
It is only two minutes before one begins demuxing the movie. ;o) Maybe it will help too.

Today begins the rest of your life.
