Okay I have a Pioneer A04, don't laugh! I've been using it to write Xbox dvd-r's and DVD films.
If I put it in my Mac G4, extract an Xbox iso and burn it using Toast as UDF format it plays fine.
BUT!!!! If I put the DVD writer in a Windows Server 2003 machine, burn the same ISO using Nero, extracted or not, the disc cannot be read by the xbox. Even using the same blank DVDs makes no difference.

What on earth is going on ?????? Is it a Burner problem or Windows problem? I've updated the PC's processor, motherboard, power supply, and HD. Still no use.

If I boot the xbox DVD-R with Evox, I can see the files but it refuses to boot the game. BUT, burn it on the Mac and it boots the game fine....

Have now bought an NEC2510 writer. SAME PROBLEM. The PC will not write a bootable DVD-R. I've also noticed that if I burn a SVCD or VCD image to CD-R using Nero with the NEC2510, the movie plays badly with loads of green artifacts and pixellation. However, the Pioneer drive in the Mac records the movie fine.

If anyone has a clue I would really appreciate it.
