which is the best firmware for lg-gsa4040b ihave a104 at the moment

LG (Hitachi) shows firmware with the letter A 302 !!

Have a look at what's available on their site


GSA-4040B Firmware Windows 2000 Windows 98 Windows XP
GSA4040B_A300.exe
GSA4040B_A301.exe
GSA4040B_A302.exe

Click on Right --> Driver Download --> DVD Writer then look up your particular model in the list and click it to go to the Instructions and WARNINGS !

An other site gives A109 as a Firmware for the model you quoted !!

The only thing I can add is :-

Using an incorrect Firmware version might cause system failures

The 2nd site is for Packard Bell, the drive that you buy from a shop, compared to the ones in Factory built computers are slightly differnt, hence the differnt firmware numbers.

I have a LG4040B in one of my comptuers here, has the A 304 Firmware installed.

So A 304 is the latest version.

Saying you have A104 would mean you have a LG4081B drive, which A104 is the latest version for that particular drive...
