Can I burn a DVD without a CDR?

I brought some dvd's from a movie store that was closing and i was attempting to make backup copies but they are all still copy protected. I have a computer with a CD ROM and I have a VCR/DVD combo. Is there any software that will alow me to copy my DVDs???Please Help me.

Use this freeware http://www.dvddecrypter.com/
This will allow you to bypass the protection and copy the dvd's to your hdd.

mstoyad, If I read your post right you don't have a dvd drive in your computer. So you can't use any of the software available to make backup copies. You need a dvd burner to do that.

The only way to copy dvd's to VHS with your combo drive is with either another dvd player or another VHS recorder. You then will need an extra box in the video line between the 2 machines that will remove the copy protection. This extra box will cost about $50. to $100. depending on how good of one you want. It removes the Macrovision copy protection. Here is one link to a macrovision remover.
