Sony DRU-510A & setupapi.dll errors

When using nero to burn DVDs I keep bombing with the error pointing to the setupapi.dll file. I reloaded my system (it needed it anyway) and I still get it.

Any ideas?

It might not have any relation to Nero -- can you paste the exact text of the error you are getting ?

When you install and/or remove freeware and/or shareware of dubious quality , it quite often messes up some of the Operating System files . That is usually when you get the ""error pointing to the setupapi.dll file ""--- !

The fix is different for different operating systems.

If you're using Windows 98 (you'll need the Win98 CD in your Rom) you can go to run and type SFC, a window will pop up. Look below and you'll see there are two choices you can check. check the second one and then accurately type in the name of your missing dll and hit next. You should have the dll restored to C:\windows\system.
