I've run up against a situation that I'm not sure how to resolve because of an interesting twist -- hopefully one of you here can help. I'm trying to split a episodic DVD-9 onto to DVD-5s. By episodic, I mean the DVD has 9 episodes of a TV show on it. I've read a bunch of guides that show how to do this when there are multiple VOB-IDs
However, the disc I am trying to copy has ONE VOB-ID for the entire disc, and this is where I get stuck.
The directory looks like:
09/14/2004 09:53 PM 14,336 VIDEO_TS.BUP
09/14/2004 09:53 PM 14,336 VIDEO_TS.IFO
09/14/2004 09:53 PM 116,736 VIDEO_TS.VOB
09/14/2004 09:53 PM 137,216 VTS_01_0.BUP
09/14/2004 09:53 PM 137,216 VTS_01_0.IFO
09/14/2004 09:53 PM 32,892,928 VTS_01_0.VOB
09/14/2004 09:56 PM 1,073,565,696 VTS_01_1.VOB
09/14/2004 09:58 PM 1,073,565,696 VTS_01_2.VOB
09/14/2004 10:00 PM 1,073,565,696 VTS_01_3.VOB
09/14/2004 10:02 PM 1,073,565,696 VTS_01_4.VOB
09/14/2004 10:03 PM 1,073,565,696 VTS_01_5.VOB
09/14/2004 10:05 PM 1,073,565,696 VTS_01_6.VOB
09/14/2004 10:08 PM 1,073,565,696 VTS_01_7.VOB
09/14/2004 10:08 PM 119,375,872 VTS_01_8.VOB
I want to split so that Episodes 1-5 are on the first disc, and 6-9 are on the second. Note that the episodes do not line up nicely on the VOB boundaries. I've already determined this split point occurs at chapter 24 of 43, which is in the middle of VTS_01_4.VOB.
I made two directorys, disc1 and disc2. Into disc1, I copied the menus and VTS_01_ 1 through 4. Into disc 2, I copied the menus and VTS_01_ 4 through 8. Note that VTS_01_4 is on both discs since episodes 5 and 6 both use it.
When I run this as a DVD, disc 1 works perfect and all the menus function as expected. However, the chapter select submenus for disc 2 do NOT work at all, and this is what I want to fix.
How can I tweak disc2's VOBS or submenu information so that the chapter selection submenus work correctly?
Thanks in advance.
