i got my new pc today and it has a

Philips DVD8601 DVD Burner

i purchased

Bulkpaq Orange Generation 4 4x write speed DVD-R

and when i goto burn a disc it says there is no disc in the drive

is this because they are -R instead of +R discs and if so is there anyway round it

Your drive supports DVD+R media only. It does not write to DVD-R Media

There is no way around this, until Dell releases a firmware update for the drive (Which they may never do)
