first off i would like to say AMAZING site guys. now after much searching i am still stumped over here.......................ok i was burning a dvd and then i went 2 burn another one and my nero wont acknowledge my burner. when i hit the drop down box to choose recorder it sees it a s a dvd burner but wont gimme the option to burn. now i can burn a cd but not a dvd.wtf. i updated firmware all that crap...what the hell can i do? now in MY COMPUTER it saw it as a dvd r\w now it says cd player.wtf? in device manager it sees it as a dvd burner........i have a lite-on ldw-451s...........god help me please

Go into your device manager, remove the burner drive there. Then reboot and let Windows reinstall the drive properly. This usually helps straighten out that type problem.

no good.i went through all the basics i know...but its not working.........but i did just burn a dvd with DVD Decrypter so it must be a Nero thing

That was going to be the next suggestion. Uninstall Nero, reboot a few times, then reinstall. Run a REG Cleaner between the uninstall and reinstall if you have one.

ok i did everything and nothing works.one more odd thing,i can burn a data dvd but not a movie????????????? wtfffffffffffff?

Hi ERSOBANKS,

When you uninstall Nero you must use ALL of the Nero tools. The InCD remover, the Clean tool and the Registry cleaner. Pick them up here:
