DVD VIDEO FILES Compliance Test Failed on Nero.....what did i do worry

I have the same problem with my RICOH DVD burner and would be very interested in the answer myself. I am using a DVD+RW with Nero 55917.

I to am getting this error in nero.

I used DVD Decrypter to rip a DVD. It gave me six files Default.pls,VTS_01-steam-information text, VTS_01_0.ifo, VTS_01_1.vob, TS__01_2.vob, VTS_01_3.vob.

When I try to burn them to DVD I get the DVD Video Files Compliance test failed.

The vob files play back on the computer the IFO file starts the DVD Player (that's all it does)

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong and how to correct it. I have tried several guides and just can't seem to get it right.

What I'm trying to do is backup a DVD to one DVD-R

If you are trying to back up only the movie. If other titles are played before the movie title and you omitted those files you will get that error. In the VIDEO_TS.IFO file there is a precommand (1 or more) that tell the DVD what title to play 1st. If they don't exist, then the DVD-R won't play.

Another problem could be that you don't have all the necessary files to make the disc play, ie: .BUP for any .IFO, VIDEO_TS.IFO & .BUP.

The problem is not when I go to play the DVD but whilst it is trying to burn.

I am getting so sick of trying to burn a DVD and having not sucess, everyone I have read makes it all sound so easy. Is there an easy answer.

I know what you're saying. Nero will recognize that the disc won't play, if burned, and will give an error message.

Try this: Go to http://www.doom9.org and download Imgtool.

Read the readme text. Use Ifoedit & Imgtool to create an .img file.

Now you can use DVDdecrypter to burn in 'ISO write' mode.

This method is very simple and is successful most of the time.

No it didn't. PowerDVD gave you that file when you played the files from your directory.

Delete the .pls file, it may be enough to fix it.
