I should probably post this in the Newbie forum, but I guess that the ones that know the answer don't lurk around there...
How can I determine if a MPEG or AVI file is in NTSC or PAL format? I haven't found it in the players I use (DivX Player, MediaPlayer, Nero ShowTime, Dell Media Experience, etc.)
The only way I find out is when I create a DVD with Nero. If the result is dodgy and the audio is not synchronized I know that the file was NTSC...

Don't worry next time, we lurk everywhere :)

Rendering the file in GSpot should give you the information you need.

Eh...
As I said, I should have posted in the newbie-forum. I rendered an AVI-file in Gspot and got this info back; .

I can't see NTSC or PAL written anywhere...

Is it the frame rate? It says 25 fps, that is PAL, isn't it?

But what about MPEG-files? After rendering the file in GSpot, I get hardly any information at all, more that it's video/mpeg. The rest of the fields says "n.a."

How can I determine what format (frame rate?) a mpeg-file has?

The framerate and the resolution (anything x 576 or 288) both tell you it's PAL. For MPEG files you can open them with VirtualDubMod and select File Information from the File menu.
