I have a Asus motherboard "A7V8X". I have checked the manual it says it does support an AMD Athlon 2800+ cpu with 333fsb. When i installed the cpu in the bios area when i booted it up it showed the choices for the cpu speeds but it did not show 2.08ghz or 2080 mhz. All i want to do its get the cpu to run the way it suppose to, I DO NOT WANT TO OC IT. If i choose set cpu speed manually wat do i change the cpu frequency multipier and cpu external frequency to get the cpu speed.O and how do i change the DRAM frequency.

the 2800 will probably show as a 2.2gighz. also R.T.F.M.D.(Read The Fucking Manual Dummy this not meant as an insult,always read the manual first before changing settings), it should tell you how to change the frequency & multiplier for cpu & ram

multiplier x fsb = CPU speed.

Your CPU maybe locked to a specific multiplier, therefore the only way of increasing the CPU speed is to alter your fsb.

What memory are you using, PC2100 or PC2700?

@ddp

I read your post in the other thread regarding your statement, and I understand now what you mean't.
However, it is so easy to write something that you do not really mean, and how it gets interepreted is where the issues snowball........

You have to admit though, it did come across as a little insulting.....

No harm done anyway..............
