I have a generic dvd +r, -R burner I bought at best buy about a year ago for $119. I have backed up close to 400 discs on it. It won't read any blank media, but will read audio and original dvd and cd's like games and movies. I just bought my third different media and it still doesn't work. I hear a high pitched grinding like noise when the drive trys to read the media but then fails to read it. Nero, dvd decrypt, dvd shrink... they all won't read it. Has my dvd player just crapped out from use because it was one of the cheaper dvd burners? I am in a situation where I am just going to buy a DL burner and chuck this, but I figure if it can still read dvd's there might be hope for it burning again.
Any suggestions??
