Hi, okay I backedup a movie on a dvd-r and it played fine in my dvd player, however in my friends dvd player it skip or studders about halfway into the movie why is this?:)

This question should really be in the dvd-r for newbies forum, but it could be a stand-alone dvd player compatability problem or a media problem. Use this link to check compatability. http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php

im using memorex dvd-r's im burning them at 4x... whats the deal?:)

Thats most likely your problem. Check the media code then look here. http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
Use this tool to determine media code. http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

okay so i check it out on the list, now im not 100% sure but i think its 2nd class media, (ritekg05)it you know for sure please tell me:). any way do you think my friend should buy a new dvd player? or should i switch disks anyway? or maby try a lower burning speed? :)"buying a new dvd player is a lot easier for me"- thanks for your help, i appriciate it:)

That media guide is a little outdated it was made prior to 8x media. I would try some burns at a lower speed first.
