I have finally Finished making starwars Episode 2 Work. I removed Angle 1. And now it plays perfect. Only problem it Has no Menues!. When IFOedit stripped it- it removed angle1 and then put the Main movie in a whole new Video_TS directory. But all it put in there was the Main Video And that it. It Made new ifo and bup's. So how do i get the menues from the original Video_ts direcory and put it in the new one.
Thanks

Not as easy as it sounds, clueless. You need Maestro or Scenarist. It's a long drawn out process that I've detailed in another post recently. I'm not sure what the title of the post was (using original menu or something). Also, if this disk has menus that take up a lot of space, you won't be able to maintain a quality video stream (bitrate will be too low).

Do you have any thoughts on my post (above) regarding the narrative subtitles for this project? Apart from this niggling error it seems to play fine. I can't locate them on the disc!

Well, USUALLY narrative subs are actually recorded into the vob's (not played as subtitles, seen as video). I haven't personally done this disk, so I am at a loss. Sorry.

Insite you seem to be the expert here. I have a question: Lets say i didn't want to down grade the quality of the main Feature VOB's. I realize that this would require more than 1 DVD-R.
So would it be easy to put the whole movie onto 2 DVD-R's. Or if thats too big what about just putting the Main Feature(the actual movie) and the menues. Thats all i really want but if its possible to put the ENTIRE DVD onto 2 then that would be even better.
Thanks again!

Clueless1

I have managed to use the Ifoedit help and created a two disc set with all bits on 1st disc and just second half of film on 2nd disc. No loss of quality, and kept the main part of the movie titles.

clueless -
Tony's method is the one to use. IFO edit will split the movie at a point of your choosing. It will enable you to keep everything on the disk.

Try the following tutorial on Derrows site.

I have had a lot of frustration with IFOEdit generating bad IFO files that phuck with my DVD player so I stopped using it.

I rip the vobs, demuxing out all the audio tracks I want to keep so I can calculate the space I need to cram the video into. I use DVD2AVI to save the project file, and re-encode in TMPEGEnc VBR. If I want subs, I use subrip and OCR them. Then I then re-author all of the demuxed files with Spruce Maestro and burn the vobset with Prassi. Works great for me.

I'm sticking with VBR encoding now. Only disadvantage is sometimes I encode and find out I have 800 megs left free on the disc. So I up the birtate a touch and re-do the encoding. Costs me about 3 hours or so, but I feel it's worth the trouble. My copy of AOTC looks pretty damn good and there's still a couple hundred megs left over.

Regarding the comment that "in others it had a sort of flicker/jerk". This seems to happen *everytime* you use ifoedit to remux in a rempeg'd video, whether or not the movie has angles or not. Some movies are much more noticeable than others, and much of the time it's so subtle you won't notice it unless you're looking for it in slow motion. But, I found that in nearly every movie, you can see little, subtle stutters here and there, especially before a scene change. If you go in slow motion, you'll see that the stutters are *not* in the rempeg'd video file; they appear only after remuxing with ifoedit. Using a technique other than ifoedit's remux solves the problem; however, I haven't found anything to be as fast and easy as ifoedit remux, so I'm hoping there's a solution (I posted a thread about this too).

I am getting crazy...but I must succeed.... - George Lucas I have bought SWAOTC legally so it's really 4 educational purposes now -. Guys help me out please:
After ripping with smartripper and a two passes with ifo edit (movie only) to get rid of the angles I have a perfect working SWAOTC on my harddisk. The videostream must be reduced to 73% (4 1 DVD+R). With rempeg i'll kept getting flikker (as with many movies). So I followed your advice and changed to using DVD2AVI to create a project file, followed by reencoding using TPMGenc. (settings bitrate to the settings of Rempeg). The videostream resulting (.m2v) is not ok....:-( seems to miss some frames sometimes and after remux the audio is not asynch. How do I have to use the TPMGenc ??? PLease please please.

When you use DVD2AVI make sure you choose under video-field operation FORCE FILM.

Otheriwse you'll end up with a 30fps interlaced movie and audio will NOT sync.

Ok, ok, this is my final message.... but i thought I should notify you all with it. I have quit with the reencoding thing use tpmgenc and cce because it drives me crazy... my procedure with rempeg(see starts of thread) works for almost 90% of all movies with excellent(!) result. I can handle the rest by splitting them in two with ifoedit, just like in the old cinemas :-), a break on half of the movie so anyone can get a drink or do a pee :-). Since DVD+R media are only 6 euro now (= 6 dollar), 12 euro per movie is fine with me. My procedures are simple so I have still time to make love with my girlfriend. So now its official...sneaky can backup every movie of his collection ;-)!!! yihooooo!!!!!
