it's hard to offer help without a little more info first.

tell us:

* where you got your copy of GTA (own/download)
* what media you're using (brand and +/_ R(W)
* what method of burning (hardware/software)
* what speed you're burning at
* what mod your playstation uses

After answering those question, maybe you'll be able to figure it out on your own...otherwise, most people are using the program DVD Decryptor to make backups

maybe settimg the laser speed to fast might help.. goto browser/configuration screen and press triangle twice... or adjusting the laser/lens sled height with the cog 2/3/4 clicks either way could do the trick ... http://www.cyber-mag.com/station/laserPS2.htm

I have and backup download of San Andreas on PS2DVD. I used RIDATA 4X DVD-R. I experience the same problem with roads, building, and maps loading slow. I also have experienced a freeze at one time. Can someone tell me a good way to burn downloaded PS2 games like what software and what speed?

I dont think its a problem with your ps2 ..in reveiws of the game they said it was almost a perfect game but there was a few glitches being that it does lag at times ... now depending on how much yours is laging or if it is happening all the time then you might have a problem, mine only happens where there is alot of action on the screen and I have seen cars get sucked up like "the forgotten" but nothing that affected the game in a serrious way.. both with my original and my backed-up copy

hbkhhh69,

I warned you yesterday about advertising. Putting it in your sig is no different.

This is your last warning.

are you sure its not normal ? the game does lag sometimes and the pop up is quite obvious and the detail textures at time can kick in late ,but its a small price to pay for the greatest game i have ever played ,my advice forget about the graphics and play

Don't know anything about changing laser speed.

I do know that I got my PS2 christmas 2003 (v9), and GTA SA lags. Blow up a car, drive through a gang war, drive through the streets fast...it all lags, and I am using an original copy of the game.

Play the game on a friends ps2 and see if you get the same lag. IT might just be how the game is.
