Update- i uninstalled the 2nd driver and checked the hidden files but was still unable to locate an nividia. also, i decided to re-run an anti virus since now i just have 1. sure enough it found 18 trojan's. so after that i tired to launch a game but this time it stayed on a black screen for 2-3x as long as before but still restarted.

btw thanks for all the help everyone has been givin me i really really appreciate it!

Hey!

Maybe it's time to backup your important stuff(just the stuff you can't afford to lose) and perform a complete reinstall of Windows. This should fix your problem.
You could try the Repair Existing Installation option.
This might also fix the problem and you won't loose data. It's a good idea to try this first and if it doesn't work then a complete reinstall should fix it.
After you reinstall/repair check your updates. Install drivers for the video card if you need them and run your game. If all goes well it will work. Install programs one at a time and check for instability.
This link will help you....go to How TO RUN A Repair Install.

Good luck!

Read the Issues the program has, Check your version of Direct X. Sometimes the New Vid Drivers have conflicts with older games. It will causes crashes.Unreal, Sof BF and some others are buggy in that way. I use 4 different vid cards in my systems. Seems like the new "updated" drivers work well only with new updated games. Always Patch your games even if you play single player. A must if you keep updated drivers and current MS DX ! hope that gives ya something to think about.. GL

Hi, for some reason every time I attempt to launch certain programs (such as game demos and cd based games) it starts to load the game but then windows restarts. After it loads back up I am presented with the message that Windows has recovered from a serious error. Here is the error signature

Looks a lot like memory problems....

It seems that you run into problems when you put stress on your video card and memory
Dunno if "starting a game" qualifies as stress :)
