swap help on v10 before voiding warranty

I bought a brand new ps2 v10 (can not use swap card). When I put the swap magic CD3.0 disc in gets to the "insert disc" screen everybody is talking about. When I put the swap magic DVD2.0 disc in I get the main browser window where I can go into my memory card or load game.

Before I break the warranty seal, do you know if I SHOULD be getting an "insert disc" screen on the DVD2.0 or can I load a burned DVD game from the browser menu?

Any help would be appreciated.

yes, you should be getting the insert disc with the dvd version. Try it on a friends ps2 and see if it works. maybe your disc is bad.

I can't take off the face plate per the instructions for the slide card. There is no screw under the tray. The SM CD3.0 works fine, but the majority of the games I have are DVDs. When inserting the DVD2.0 disc it never gets to "insert disc" on this PS2 version - it just takes me to the browser menu.

Ther is two clips on either side of the door. I did it on my friends ps2 and it pulled of with a bit of force.
