MP3 Playbck all messed up in media player

Whenever I play an mp3 in Windows Media Player, it starts off fine, but after about a second the pitch bends down and the music is played slightly slower and in a lower key. When I play the music in other programs, it sounds fine. What is wrong?

come on people, i need help with this, i think it might be something wrong with the codec that Windows Media Player uses for MP3 playback. How do i change the codec it uses, i've got about 5 installed.

Uninstall them then re-install them. You can get them for free from Micro$oft$ web site.
