BenQ burner screwed or what?

Hi, I just got a BenQ dvd/cd burner and I tryed in
3 programs to erase my cd-rw's and in all 3 programs
there are errors saying things like "drive not ready"
or "not all media is erasable". Then my cd-rom tray
pops out, not the dvd burner tray, but the normal
cd-rom drive!! :| (what the heck is with that??) :(
Can somone plz help me!
