I was trying to use Dvd Indentifier: http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ and it told me that I might need a firmware upgrade. I agreed and decided to check that out here: http://www.artecusa.com/tech-support-firmware.html
I got to the instructions which I don't think are clear for my case... maybe they are I just want to make sure that I don't flash the worng drive if that is possible. My DVD/RW is connected to my HD so that is the first IDE channel right? Help me out. here are the links I used:

a) If your drive is set as secondary master IDE channel - flash 3 w /b [the firmware file name] - Press Enter (Note: if the firmware is a .hex format, the ?/b? command if not needed)
b) If your drive is set as secondary slave IDE channel - flash 4 w /b [the firmware file name] - Press Enter
