Did you put the drive alone on the cable?
Try installing the drive alone with no jumper. Reboot into Bios and set Default settings. Reboot and it should show up in Bios and Disk Management.

Does the drive spin when installed?
What do you have on each IDE cable?
When the system boots, what does the screen say?

are you using a 80 wire cable or 40 wire. if 80 is drive on end or in middle, if in middle move to end connector(black not blue)as some cables have pin missing & will only see drive if drive setup as slave

Hey

If you still have no luck, download Disk Wizard Starter Edition. Maybe it will help.

Hey

Look at the last link I posted and try your drive with the CSEL setting with you drive on the end of the cable. Try in the middle too.

Try also the single setting in the diagram.

Try the drive on both IDE channels.

Try a different cable.

Do your CD/DVD show in Bios?

Hey there guy... try this:

1) Boot up with the new HD as the main bootup source.
2) Format it
3) Put the jumper as CS or completely remove it
4) Put your old HD back as your main
5) Make sure you are using the slave side of the same IDE cable that goes to your main HD and connect new HD

See what happens!
