General Slow Performance...

I recently bought a Memorex Dual Layer DVD Burner, installed it just fine; and it worked excellently. A few weeks after that, my HD died out on me, and I replaced it with a 250Gb. While I had my case open, I decided to throw in my old DVD drive (also working perfectly fine) as secondary slave.

Now, I can't quite figure it out, but SOMETHING is wrong. Read speeds on both drives have suddenly become horrible; (even MP3's stutter when played off CD's/DVD's) and comp performance as a whole seems to have taken a hit as well. Does anyone know what my problem might be?

check your jumpers for master/slave settings on drives
