Fansubbed anime to DVD

Please help.

I'm attempting to make DVD sets of some fansubbed anime that I have downloaded. Each time I attempt this the subtitles are either cut off half way through the letter or gone completly barly visible at the bottom of the screen. I've tried all I can think of to fix this. I have TPMGe, Ulead Movie Factory, and Ulead DVD Workshop. PLease help if you can.
