GSOP is the latest firmware.
This writer is the same as mine and the only trouble I have is it doesn't like to burn DVD-R media.
DVD+R is fine

Is this right?

On one cable your LiteOn DVD burner is the master drive and your Maxtor 80gig is the slave?

And, on the other cable your Samsung 8gig is the master and the LiteOn is the slave?

If so .... try putting the Maxtor on the same cable as your Samsung and make it the slave on that cable. And put the LiteOn 52246s on same cable as the burner and make it the slave. And yes you do need to enable DMA.

Ok i fixed the problem, i enabled dma by going to systems - device manager - ide... then i disabled the primary and secondary ide.... after you reboot your computer automatically reinstalls them... and my burner works for the first time since i bought it... wish i did this a year ago :)
