I'm trying to back up some already burnt dvds so i can later burn them to a blank dvd-r. I have downloaded the dvd shrinker and dvd decrypter. While backing up certain ones using the shrinker an error message comes up saying Failed to read file D:\Data error(cyclic redundancy check)
WHAT CAN I DO?
I've tried everything. I tryied ripping it with dvd decrypter but got another error message. Do you think a DVD skip dr. would solve the problem. or i heard something about downloading IsoBuster? I've also wiped the dvds with a silky cloth....
thanks for the help,
John

cyclic redundancy check
- this usually means a dirty or damaged disc or dirty laser. The disc could also be a bad factory pressing.

If I understand your post correctly your trying to copy a backup, right? If yes, and your getting a crc error it's your media. Poor quality media was used for the first backup.

If the source disc (your first backup) cannot be read/ripped then you cannot back it up. If you cannot copy it using just DVD Decrytper or Nero's disc copy then most likely you will not be able to copy you copy.

Next time, use quality media.

Open dvd decryter click on the Tools ->settings->I/O.
Under the I/O tab, check the box ignore read error.
Second, click on the css tab choose Brute Force->I/O Exchange and click ok.
After doing this, you try to rip your dvd again and I think it might help.

3) Describe your problem specifically -- including the thread topic, because this helps people who are willing to answer to you.
