hey...decided to buy a new processer/motherboard as im getting a little bored of my current athlon 1800, i want to stick with amd as intels annoying jingle pisses me off. wanting to spend around £100 - £200. any ideas? and cooling isnt a problem so one i could o/c wouldnt be a bad thing.

what is your board's max speed, check motherboard site for list of cpus that can go on your board & check for latest bios version for your board

Asus motherboards are excellent for overclocking and the new Sempron processor are very fast for a budget processor.
Overclocking them is easy with the right board.
Just raise the FSB to 400Mhz and they run like a dream, providing you have fast enough memory of course.

thanks, and the memory shouldn't a problem since im going for 512 corsair ddr pc3200 with clock speed of 400mhz. and i was looking at the sempron because of what iv heard. but im still not sure as what mobo to buy, im either going to go for MSI K7N2 Delta2 Platinum or Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe. both 400fsb, wat do u think?

lol, just read ur sig agent-k, i can guess what mobo u r going to suggest. but if i buy the MSI K7N2 Delta2 Platinum i can save £30 which would mean more lights and other useless crap my pc doesnt need ;). so will it make any difference to how far i can o/c my processer if i choose this one? thanks

That Msi board looks bloody good to me.

I don't know what they are like for reliability etc as I have never used one, but they have a good write up on the link below.
They even talk about overclocking.
