A few question:

1)when burning a dvd what format should it be in?

2)how do you burn a dvd to another dvd?

3)I want to make exact copies of my dvd's and I heard you can burn directly if you the dvd is a certain size but if its not then what?

4)what program do you need to do this and how do you use them?

5)how do you determine the the size of dvd?

If you can answer these question in DETAIL please I would appreciate it, thanks

Ok,

1) Burn your DVDs in the 'UDF/ISO' format (I use NERO burning software, but there are others).

2) You can't backup your DVD directly onto a blank 'cos of the protections built into the movies. You need to rip the film onto your hard drive, strip out any unwanted stuff, correct the IFOs, and then burn onto a DVD-R.

3) If your DVD is over 4.3gb (once you've stripped out any unwanted stuff) you need to shrink the movie using tmpeg or rempeg.

4) There are a number of programs that you can use. I use the following;
- DVD Decrypter to rip the film onto your hard drive.
- IFOEdit to strip out menus/subtitle/unwanted audio.
- DVD2AVI & TMPEG to shrink the movie.
- IFOEdit to correct the IFOs.
- NERO to burn the DVD.
This is a SUMMARY of the software. Go to www.doom9.org for step-by-step instructions.

5) Simply use explorer. The VOBs have to be less than 4.3gb to fit on one DVD.

Good luck !
