HAVING TROUBLE WITH COUNTERSTRIKE..HELP PLZ

(not sure if this is the correct section, if not, sorry)

Downloaded 'the newest one' by EMPORIO.

unrarred it, gave me everything.

It says <Setup a NEW steam account (steaminstall supplied for your enjoyment)>
--so i didnt install steam

Then it says <Run the enclosed patch (enter your new steam account name and password and hit patch), (you may now uninstall steam)>
--So i run the patch, it says enter a name nd pword so i make a 'new' one (made it up, supposed too right?), and then installed steam.

Then it says play the game, so when steam was open i gave it the info it asked for (the name and pword, sed it was incorrect, so i left it) and went and click on the sounterstrike application. It starts up and says <starting steam engine...> and like 5 seconds later an error message comes up saying <error 110: This account doesn't exist or password is wrong>

SO NOW WHAT?

What did i do wrong?

any help wud be great, thx.

call tech support from steam and they can reset your password. by the way you have to send in your cd case with the game and cd code
