I have downloaded just about every version of Nero 6.6 I can find and "installed" each as a clean isntall (after un-install and registry sweep (registry mechanic) and during install setup, I get blocked by a message "Nero has detected an attempt at non licensed use" and the install won't complete. SO I clean install an older versiion 6.3.125 and install 6.6 as an upgrade and it SEEMS to work but no matter what version I install or how I do it, I am missing two key features=
1. I have no such feature as "Recode" and
2. I have no help files anywhere
I am also wondering why each time I install Nero, the setup remembers the exact directory where I put the previous installs, even though I un-install, delete any trace files and clean my registry with "Registry Mechanic"??? Is there perhaps some untracable registry entries I need help finding and deleting that may clear up all my Nero Ills??? OR am I stuck with regestry traces that will thwart any attempt to install any downloaded version of 6.6 with all working features?!?
I am getting fairly fluent at DVD ripping and underground software ripping but this one has me stumped.. Please post help and/or e-mail suggestions and helpful files (I can't remember if this forum allows posting e-mails or not so let me know)

Before you uninstall again, go to Help / Enter New Serial Number. It will take you to Nero StartSmart. Write down your serial number and then click on the "-" sign to remove it from Nero. Completely uninstall Nero, run Nero Cleanup Tools:
and run your Registry cleaner. Delete the C:\Program Files\Ahead folder.
Now reinstall all of the Nero packages you choose BEFORE entering your registration number. Only after you have everything installed, enter your serial number.
You have to DL and install the language packs if you want the help files. Same thing if you want the .pdf manuals.
Don't know why it works, but it does on the latest versions.
The trick to that beeing that no matter what version I install, there are "no help files installed anywhere in any Nero directory". The only time I can enter a serial number is when I run Nero 6.3 for the first time after a clean install!
I am looking to find out how to erase all traces of Nero from my registry where my "Registry Mechanic" is falling short.. Perhapes then, I can completely and successfully install the newer version. The trouble started when I installed 6.6 and went to Nero site looking for answers about the missing recode and help files and downloaded Nero's "MAJOR UPDATES" thats when the illegal use was detected and I was never able to install 6.6 again..
And I tried to contact Nero and they wanted my license number and that won't work because it's a bootleg number cracked with a keygen and it's not registered. I am not sure if the registration should be performed since they can probably tell if it's a bootleg number.
